In parts of England, anti-migrant movements are gaining traction. Flags and symbols of exclusion are being displayed to intimidate and divide communities. This is not patriotism — it is fear dressed up as nationalism. Such actions do nothing to solve real social or economic problems; instead, they foster hatred and suspicion of neighbours who simply want to live in peace.

In the United States, we have already seen how quickly political rhetoric can turn into hostile laws. Under Donald Trump, migrants faced family separations, forced deportations, and constant fear. Rights that once felt permanent were stripped away almost overnight.
